Sialkot Stallions - What are they doing in the Champions League?

The Sialkot Stallions can consider themselves lucky to be included in the first edition of the Champions League Twenty20. The tournament was earlier slated to include the Top 2 teams from India, Australia, South Africa and England. But since the Runners-up in the English Domestic Twenty20 tournament - KENT - fielded players from the banned rebel league ICL, Kent themselves were barred from participating in the tournament.

This resulted in the champions of Pakistan - Sialkot Stallions - replacing them in this years edition of the the Champions League.

Sialkot Stallions - History of the Club

The Sialkot Stallions have won the Pakistan’s domestic RBS Twenty20 Cup for the last 3 years. Sialkot Stallions are World No. 2 ranked Twenty20 team according the ICC cricket rankings. The only thing which will be affecting them is that a lot of their players (like Imran Nazir, Naved-ul-Hasan etc) have now shifted to the rebel Indian Cricket League.
